Toothbrush WARNING!!!

Some where our Mom got it in her head that she thinks we should forage for some of our food, because our relatives in the wild do. Some of the birds here like it, there are others of us that don't want any part of it. After all what would Mom think if we started making her forage for some of her food?? The birds that like to forage thought we should share some of our Mom's silly ideas on foraging, so other parronts could torment their birds too.Mom mostly makes us forage for our nuts because she knows how much we love them, but you can use about any thing you want as long as it's safe. Just remember if your parronts start making you work for your food it wasn't my fault,I'm out numbered here. ~Sarge

These are a new toy Mom just came up with to make us work for our almonds. She calls them Snack Time Foraging Blocks. They are good for medium to large birds. You can buy a 6 pack of them on our bird toy website.

Bagel tubes make great foraging toys, you can stuff them with what ever treat you like and offer them to your birds. You can also wrap them up in a paper towel after they are stuffed to make them work even more for their treat. We carry bagel tubes in our store too.

Foraging can be very cheap and simple.

You can use coffee filters and non foil cupcake wrappers to wrap a nut or other favorite treat in them and twist the top to make a paper flower. You can offer these in their regular food dish or place them in between the cage bars at various levels.

You can use a square cut from regular computer paper to wrap a nut or other favorite treat. You can twist the ends to make it look like a piece of hard candy. You can offer these in their regular food dish or place them on the bottom of the cage so they have to travel to get them.

These rubber balls can be found in the dog section of your local pet store. You can put edible treats in them or small toy parts for your bird to work at getting out. My Macaws love having their nuts served this way. They will actually take these to get their nuts out of before they take the loose ones offered in their bowls.
